Running a successful blog for many years, the team at Discover Bangkok decided that they needed a change to make them stand out among the rest. Securing the services of Smart Creative, it was clear that a new website and brand identity was exactly what they needed. The project - to turn the Discover Bangkok blog in to a personal guide that could be used on the go.

First of all, the logo that Discover Bangkok was using wasn't useable for the full range of uses that they needed it for - they found that the logo was distorted on some users screens and pixilation occurred when printing. Smart conducted a complete design refresh on their logo to make it scalable for use on any device and for an print purpose. This resulted in their logo looking cleaner overall and set us up with basis of our design process.

With a traditional tour guide in mind, a friendly caricature was designed to 'guide visitors around the website'. This inspired us brainstorm useful features that a tour guide might offer their audience. The process resulted in additional features like the currency converter and Bangkok weather app, both features that competitor blogs didn't offer.

Basing the idea for the website design around a clean and professional application that also had a social element to it, we set on the challenge of incorporating many features whilst making it as simple as possible. The website was made with a fully responsive design so that it could be used on any device for ultimate on-the-go usability. The result of this website design and brand identity project is a website that acts as an informative blog on desktop and a useful app on mobile and tablets. The bold and friendly nature of the branding has proven to captivate Discover Bangkok's audiences.
